20140927-DSC_3104 In a recent interview with Raleigh Bicycles about our bike tour:
Have you ever dreamed of breaking out of your daily routine? What about buying a one-way ticket to Europe with only a backpack and bike by your side? That’s what Beth Puliti did. The former nine-to-fiver turned freelance writer set off this summer to explore Eastern Europe all from the saddle of her bike.

Love your articles for Bicycle Times. Am curious if you keep the same bike all the time, or same bike style i.e. Fatbike. Also, do you have 3-4 go to items you cannot live without? Do they sponsor a bike for you so the decision is easier? Thanks

Thanks Jim! We’ve switched out bikes twice so far during business trips back to the U.S. We started on Raleigh/Jamis touring bikes with a traditional rack-and-pannier setup. This past spring, we switched to our mountain bikes and a soft bag/bikepacking setup to explore the dirt roads of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Most recently, we were sponsored by Salsa just before arriving in Nepal this past fall. We’re currently riding Fargos. Items we can’t live without: SteriPEN, (Lezyne) mini floor pump, (Cocoon) sleeping bag liner/(Enlightened) down quilt, (Park Tools) patch kit & tire boot.
